Few
companies allow their consumers to have a direct influence on the way
they do business. Fairfield Electric is one company that does. Our
Member Advisory Committees involve our customer-members as liaisons
among fellow members, board members and management.
They
act as the eyes and ears of the cooperative, identifying problems and
helping us provide the best service possible. Advisory Committees are a
two-way communication process.
At
the meetings, we keep members informed about all aspects of the
cooperative and, in turn, we hope the Advisory Committee members will
share with us any concerns and information from the community. Twenty
years of Advisory Committees have helped make our cooperative stronger
and more efficient.
The
Member Advisory Committee meets as needed. We're thankful to the members
who have shared their time with us, and we're pleased to offer this
representative list of past Member Advisory Committee contributions.
Committee
input and responses have been used to evaluate pending and active
programs and procedures as follows:
Due
to Advisory Committee interest, FEC initiated:
- a loan program
- a bank draft program
- levelized payment plan
- a WATS line
- H2O Select
- Operation RoundUp
Advisory
Committee members have:
- assisted in obtaining right-of-ways and acted as trouble shooters
by reporting loose wires, trees near lines, etc.
- served as a source for Operation RoundUp board members
- helped plan annual meetings, participated in Co-op Day trips to
the State House and judged FEC contests for scholarships and other
opportunities for youth.
